Our School - Principal's Message

Colac South West Primary School is a school of approximately 120 students which is situated not far from the centre of Colac. We have excellent students who are always keen to talk to visitors and to share their learning experiences.

Situated on a large site the school has extensive grounds and generally modern buildings which provide a good foundation upon which a quality education program can be built.

I strongly encourage all perspective families to take the time to visit our school and see how we operate and to get a sense of the values upon which our educational programs are based. Time spent in our classrooms will enable visitors to talk to students and to learn from them what makes our school so different.

At Colac South West we strongly believe that it is our responsibility to establish an environment which encourages and facilitates a positive learning partnership between students, teachers and families. It is only when we all work together that the potential of every student can be achieved.

Our programs are developed and implemented to meet the needs of each individual student. All of whom have individual learning programs that are discussed, reviewed, shared and updated on a regular basis.

The school offers a broad curriculum which includes specialist programs in Art, Physical Education and Indonesian. There is an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy as well as Science. In all areas it is our aim to challenge students, to stimulate their curiosity and to encourage them to become highly motivated learners. Whilst this may not always be the outcome we do work closely with families and encourage them to be actively involved in the school and the day to day education of their children.

If you would like to visit our school please do not hesitate to make contact and book a time for a tour. Most families would spend approximately one hour walking around the school and speaking to staff and students.
